Dot outlines have become a trend again, have been present during the last catwalks, and even many celebrities have become fans of this innovative beauty trend. Since its inception, the delineated dot is maintained for several seasons, to disappear and then return with much more strength and originality. When it comes to fashion and makeup, imagination and creativity go a long way, and very innovative ideas can be born from them.

What is dot outline?

This type of outline is a style of makeup for the eyes that emerged during the decade of the 60s, when some top models began to use it to emphasize their eyelashes. It has very simple bases; the delineation is achieved by drawing very small moles at the height of the eyelashes of the lower parpado.

Usually only one is drawn right in the center of each blink; however plotting several all over the edge also looks great, even in the whole eye in general, when you want to play more with the designs. With regard to what colors are used for this outline, the truth is that the most common are the color black and different shades of blue, even so you can choose any other that combines with the skin tone.

5 types of dot delineation

Despite the fact that they are all quite similar and have the same bases, there are different ways to do this type of delineation that today is a trend and that you will like to try it if you are a woman who likes fashion trends in makeup and you are looking to look original.

1. Minimalist style

If what you want is to start carrying this trend in a rather discreet way, the least is to start with a minimalist style, which consists of drawing two small points in the middle of the lower parpado. You can go a little below the line of the eyelashes, or right where the blinking ends, always taking care that the point is as far to the center as possible.

This style of dot delineation can be made with various materials, either with eyeliner of the color you prefer, or with frosts and sequins to give it a more daring touch.

2. Electric style

It is an ideal style to get a very intense look. It consists of performing fairly long and eye-catching cat’s eye delineation, which has also been on trend for many seasons in a row. Then the lower eyelid is highlighted by making one or more points around it.

3. Delineated dot with flashing dots

With this style of delineation it is possible to lengthen and enlarge the eyes, as well as the cat’s eye outlines or the smokey eyes shading at the top. To get this extravagant and very original outline, you only have to draw some points along the lower eyelid, although you can also do it in the upper and / or both, just below the line of the eyelashes, carrying them until they coincide with the end of the eye or eyebrows, depending on how you decide to use it.

4. Twiggy style

Copying the legendary look of the iconic Twiggy model isn’t at all difficult. It consists of using a pastel shade in the upper flimp, a lot of mascara in the upper and lower lashes so that they look very long and thick, then the point in eyeliner that identifies this style must be made. A few more can be drawn up to achieve a greater impact.

5. Arty style

To achieve a much more artistic look you can combine points of different colors on the top parpado until they cover the entire parpado. The most commonly used colors for this style are black, dark blue and some shades of gray, but you can play with the colors you like the most.
